Department of Climate Change
The Department of Climate Change was established on 3 December 2007 as part of the Prime Minister and Cabinet Portfolio.
The Corporate Plan provides a picture of our Department's roles and priorities in delivering the Australian Government's climate change framework. - reducing Australia's greenhouse gas emissions
- adapting to the impacts of climate change we cannot avoid
- helping to shape a global solution.

Community Access to Natural Resources Information
The Community Access to Natural Resources Information (CANRI) Program provides information products tailored for community-based local and regional environmental management in New South Wales. It is the first program of its kind to offer integrated access to maps and other data held at various Internet sites by a diverse group of natural resource agencies and other stakeholders.
CANRI is a collaborative initiative involving all NSW natural resource agencies. The NSW Government has provided nearly $4m funding for CANRI over four years from July 2000 (see CANRI Business Case). CANRI addresses six themes: coordination; data; systems; quality & standards; products & services; and communications. A wide range of CANRI projects is being completed within these themes each year.
CANRI is managed by the NSW Natural Resources Information Management Strategy Steering Group, with the NSW Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources as lead agency. CANRI relies heavily on the involvement of representatives from natural resources agencies and other stakeholders, who are active in the various CANRI committees and groups.

Tweed Valley Wildlife Carers
Originally formed in 1989, when it came to the notice of several interested people in the Tweed area, that we were lacking a group concerned with caring for sick, injured or orphaned native fauna; Tweed Valley Wildlife Carers Inc was formed, and licensed under National Parks & Wildlife Service GL 10051. It has continued growing in both size and knowledge over the years.
Our objectives and aims are many and varied, but foremost is the rescue and rehabilitation of native fauna for return to their natural environment, using the best and most up to date information from all relevant sources. Another main aim of our group is the relocation of native wildlife under threat, or causing distress to members of the public, to other suitable habitat for that species.
All of our volunteer members are fully trained in the rescue and care of native wildlife, and amongst our members we have several areas of specialist expertise relating to specific needs such as possums/gliders, macropods, monotremes, and flying foxes. Any suffering experienced by injured, sick, or orphaned animals is promptly alleviated by veterinary treatment.

Global Footprint Network
Humans are the most successful species on the planet. But we are using more resources than the Earth can provide. We are in global ecological overshoot.
In 2003, Global Footprint Network was established to enable a sustainable future where all people have the opportunity to live satisfying lives within the means of one planet.
An essential step in creating a one-planet future is measuring human impact on the Earth so we can make more informed choices.
That is why our work aims to accelerate the use of the Ecological Footprint - a resource accounting tool that measures how much nature we have, how much we use, and who uses what.
The Ecological Footprint is a data-driven metric that tells us how close we are to the goal of sustainable living. Footprint accounts work like bank statements, documenting whether we are living within our ecological budget or consuming nature's resources faster than the planet can renew them.

EnviroLink Network Online Envoronmental Community
Since 1991, the EnviroLink Network has provided free Internet services to non-profit organizations that work on environmental and animal concerns issues. When we started this service, we were one of the only no-cost alternatives for non-profit organizations to gain a foothold on the Internet. We felt it was important for non-profits to have a no-cost method of testing the effectiveness of what was at that time a brand new medium. Twelve years later, the Internet has been accepted as a powerful communications tool by millions, and EnviroLink currently serves hundreds of organizations throughout the world. A lot has changed in those twelve years, and now EnviroLink is changing as well.
The EnviroLink Network has joined forces with the non-profit Institute for Global Communications (IGC.org) to provide the progressive non-profit community with the best possible Internet services. Since 1987, IGC has been providing the progressive community with Internet services in a professional and responsible manner. IGC is a non-profit organization committed to many of the same principles as EnviroLink. We could not think of a better organization for EnviroLink to be partnered with, and we are confident that you will agree.
